The first part of this course aims to provide B.Eng.Sc. students in the Renaissance Engineering Programme with the introductory concepts of thermal sciences, viz., fluid mechanics, temperature and ideal gases, laws of thermodynamics and heat transfer mechanisms with rate equations while the second part equips the students with knowledge of the fundamental laws of electricity and magnetism including static and time-varying electric and magnetic fields, Maxwell's equations and electromagnetic wave propagation in lossless and conducting media.
