This course aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge of digital communication theory, information theory, signal detection, signal transmission through various channels, and teletraffic theory. Students will learn functional blocks of digital and telecommunications systems, sampling theory, line coding, channel capacity, matched filter, transmission lines and optical fibers, microwave and satellite communication systems, network planning and switching systems.
