This course introduces upper-level communication majors to Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), human factors design, and AI agent development. Students will explore how theories like the Media Equation and Trust in AI shape perceptions of digital agents, and how human factors principles influence usability, accessibility, and design for communication contexts. Using no-code tools such as Voiceflow, Dialogflow CX, and n8n, students will design and prototype AI agents for industries like marketing, advertising, and PR. The course culminates in a working online prototype, a short explanatory video, and a showcase with industry experts.
