In this course, students/student-teachers will have opportunities to develop and strengthen their knowledge, skills and dispositions/attributes in designing quality learning experiences for children. Students/student-teachers will explore concepts in curriculum and assessment in early childhood education (ECE) and understand the elements that contribute to quality EC learning experiences. They will also have opportunities to engage in and reflect on the design process as they design integrated play learning experiences that consider both children's and teachers' perspectives. We recommend that students who wish to pursue an EC minor complete AED16A and AED16D first because these two courses can greatly support you with AED16B, AED16C and AED16E.
