The course covers the fundamentals of Nutrition and Food, which encompass: the study of nutrients, energy balance, nutrition/diet tools such as the Healthy Diet Pyramid, Recommended Daily Allowances (RDA) and Food Composition Table. Extended areas of discussion/ exploration include: - Factors related to food labelling and choices, - Meeting an individual?s nutritional requirement - Decision making regarding current nutrition-related issues - Comparing the use of different RDA from different countries
