This course introduces `story' as a medium to appreciate multiculturalism. By using selected modern and classical literary texts and close reading of texts as well as ICT-based media, you will be given the opportunity to appreciate values, tradition and culture of various communities, namely Chinese, Malay and Indian, with contextual understanding. Current multiculturalism-related issues such as cultural representation, transnationalism, cultural parochialism will also be discussed. This course will be delivered in English. All readings and teaching resources are available in English.
