Examination of the range of major forms and genres in children's literature, focusing on important traditions, themes and conventions, and exploring their relevance to the linguistic and imaginative development of young readers. Areas of study may include: Western and Asian oral and written traditions, fairy tales, fable, myth, fantasy literature, picture books and 'classic' children's literature.Classes are 3 hours in a block. Note: Student who passed AAE283 is not allowed to take this course.
